Isn't that what we were told as kids - zip it up, it's cold or zip it up - you'll get wet
so................should your puppy or dog wear a coat ?
I've always had rufty tufty hairy big dogs so the only time I've bought them a coat was when they were a puppy as they don't have much natural insulation when they are young and then in late middle age when arthritis is likely to be developing and they've slowed down a bit.
However, I don't let them wear their jackets if we are walking off piste when they could get caught up and stuck or when they are playing with other dogs because again, they could get caught up and one or other of the dogs could think they were being "pinned".
I take a harness off a dog for the same reasons.
So.........which coat do I recommend ? It depends on budget but I always make sure they have back leg straps otherwise the coat flies up and is worse than useless.
I really like the Scrufts Thermal Coats, the Equifleece jackets and my favourite Danish Design 2 in 1 Ultimate Jacket for versatility.
