THE DOG CHARMER is COVID-19 COMPLIANT
DEFRA, the NPCC and the CFSG have produced guidelines for OUTDOOR dog training on PRIVATE land to enable dog trainers to get back to work. All the organisations just mentioned have the following roles and I have also noted the Legal, Associate Members and Steering Committee members of the CFSG as this is an organisation that is relatively unknown to anyone outside the industry sector they represent. You will recognise many of those mentioned.
DEFRA is the Government Department responsible for the industry sector of dog training and dog trainers. The NPCC is The National Police Chiefs Council is the UK body responsible for policing throughout the country and co-ordinates UK Policing operations including Strategic Policing, working with the National Crime Agency, the command of counter terrorism operations and delivery of counter terrorist policing, the co ordination of the national police response to national emergencies and the mobilisation of resources across borders and internationally. The NPCC have stated that travelling to exercise or train your dog is allowed as long as you spend more time out of the car exercising/training than you do driving. The NPCC have also stated that it is acceptable to travel to and from your workplace if you are unable to work from home. The CFSG is a Group which responds collectively to Government consultations and provides expert advice to policy makers on all issues relating to dogs and cats and ensuring members are kept updated on developments and any changes affecting their work. Forestry England has now closed all forests to the public across the UK, this includes the Wyre Forest and you cannot access the Forest even on foot Some Police forces are popping notices on windscreens in well known beauty spots/dog walking areas saying that they are not to take their vehicle again and and they will be fined if they are spotted again. Social distancing still applies wherever you are and whatever you are doing We will all have views on this, some in favour, some not, some who would like it to be tweaked to reflect their personal circumstances but please remember, the Police didn't make the law, they are employed to enforce it and they don't have the choice to self isolate or not go to work...I am sure our local Police Officers will be polite and patient and I trust we will afford them the same courtesy and not bother them unnecessarily with unfounded allegations or supposed infractions. |
